"Fox News Channel's evening news show provided more balanced coverage than its counterparts on the broadcast networks"

I report, you decide:

"The study also found that Fox News Channel's evening news show provided more balanced coverage than its counterparts on the broadcast networks."

There you have it--not from me, not from Fox, but from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

The Politico is that cool newspaper with incredibly insider-y political coverage. And here's a Cable Game-y item presented in full:

RELEASE OF THE DAY, from the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University: "TV election news has been hardest on Hillary Clinton this fall, while Barack Obama and Mike Huckabee have been the biggest media favorites, according to a new study … . The study also found that Fox News Channel's evening news show provided more balanced coverage than its counterparts on the broadcast networks."

Stay tuned, now, for the counter-onslaught from the likes of Media Matters, FAIR, etc.

Where the "critics" miss the point is that they focus on O'Reilly, Hannity (not Comes), and the fact that those horrible right wingers also get a platform there along with the usual left of center suspects. Their news, personified by Shep What's His Name, is news---although lately he has allowed his own useless opinions within his news reading.

Compare this with the sickening "news" tossed at us by Olberman, the outrageously biased business "news" by Kudlow and the touting by KNBC, the constant agit prop put out by the entire team of people at CNN (both headline and Cooperstown), MSNBC with Matthews, and whatever else they have to spout crap.

FOX clearly identifies "shows" separate from "news." They also seem to "stack" their stories better--meaning that actual news is featured 1-10. This is opposed to the other nets that seem to place or pair stories to suit their agendas.

It's the left MSM that is hammering at FOX, not real people. And Olberman seems to be on a virtual sliming of O'Reilly to the exclusion of all news.

And BTW is Greta a Right Wing Maniac?

I heard Bill mention this on his show tonight and as a media and journalism student who's never met a single member of academia who doesn't laugh at the thought of Fox News being fair, balanced, or even credible... I knew something was up.

So I checked your source. This survey was done by the Center of Media and Public Affairs, directed by S. Robert Lichter... a paid consultant for the Fox News Channel who is well known in the media circle for doing all he can to dig up evidence of the media's "liberal bias".

Look it up. It's amazing what 5 minutes of research will do.

Back to the drawing board guys.
